Description
Minatronics Corporation is proud to announce the new LightGard IV unit which will replace the highly reliable LightGard III which has been Minatronics’ standard bearer for more than 10 years. The new LightGard IV, like it’s predecessor will be able to operate with either all makes of “Supervised Wireless” transmitters or as a protection zone on any 12 volt “Hardwire” alarm or access control panel. The new unit has a new circuit board which facilitates easier manufacturing and the newest state of the art components. The new LightGard IV unit will have a slightly longer Fiber Optic Loop length capability than its predecessor. Although we advertise 400 feet for the loop length, the new units can operate at far greater loop lengths. Although splice points shorten loop length, we have found that using the MINI-DNP connectors with a 25-foot fiber optic cable length we can have as many as 20 splice points! For those who wish to use the wireless configuration, the new units will also have longer battery life before notification of a low battery condition. The “Supervised Wireless” installations are recommended and are ideal in older buildings that used asbestos during construction. A zone of LightGard Fiber Optic Cable provides the only way to protect and monitor valuable equipment even as it is being used in a room full of people!
